We’re seeking an energetic and adaptable Production Coordinator who is responsible for leading the Production team in daily operations and achieving production goals while ensuring all procedures and policies are utilized and followed throughout the production process. This position also helps enhance the performance of the production team through facilitating training, communication and assisting other team members in achieving safety, quality and production goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all current good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and general safety guidelines and training.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams or departments such as Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, etc.
- Demonstrate an understanding of standard operating procedures and policies.
- Solves problems and issues with team members using dignity, in a mature and business-like manner.
- Using root cause analysis, trouble shoot and adjust equipment to perform at company set standards and goals.
- Monitor product quality continuously.
- Recognize product quality defects, understand, and use the provided specifications for each product.
- Stops production to contain problems at every appropriate instance.
- Seek assistance from Management, Quality or Maintenance as required.
- Perform periodic product quality checks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the minimum required hourly output for the product that is running.
- Monitor and make adjustments to ensure production goals are achieved.
- Communicate throughout the day with the Sr. Production Manager about how production is performing based on the standards and goals set by the company.
- Report injuries, regardless of their severity, as soon as they happen.
- Demonstrate the ability to plan ahead for the next production run.
- Ensure that all material is staged for the current and/or next production run.
- Collaborate with Production Management and HR to interview, hire, train, mentor, monitor, evaluate, appraise, reward, coach, guide, advise, and/or discipline departmental subordinate employees as needed and as per company policies and procedures, in a timely manner with applicable documentation.
Competencies & Qualifications:
Production Coordinator should be able to boost team performance and employee retention rates through strong communication and empathy skills. They most often need the following skills and qualifications:
- Must know and abide by Company safety policies and participate in Safety Training as required and as applicable.
- Must be knowledgeable with cGMP standards or can learn and comply with said standards as applicable to the position.
- Must have proficient and basic computer skills and experience for communication such as email, record keeping, documentation, etc., specifically with MS Office 365 applications and have current familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, or a similar ERP system, or can be ready, willing, and able to learn within a reasonably quick timeframe upon position acceptance and maintain knowledge and skills throughout employment.
- Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Must have a clear comprehension about quality product and full understanding of machines and tolerances.
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot minor issues and implement minor adjustments.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals and can read and write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals when needed.
- Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Management.
- Must have an advanced ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Must have the ability to safely use warehousing tools and/or equipment such as a pallet jack, hand truck, tape dispenser, etc.
- Must have recent standard and reach forklift certification(s) in good standing or willing to obtain and maintain standard and reach forklift certification(s)
- Must have a proficient ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must have a valid US driver’s license and must maintain both throughout employment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
