What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Shift Wrapper Relief Operator position at Bongards' Creameries?
Position Summary:
Bongards is looking for an energetic, motivated and dedicated individual to join our production team as a Wrapper Relief Operator. This position will be on the Day Shift.
Job duties:
- Operate the Hart wrappers used to wrap process cheese slices.
- Produce quality wrapped packages.
- Keep wrappers in good operating condition.
- Relieve all wrapper operators for breaks.
- Responsible for training new wrappers.
- Must be able to operate the wrappers safely.
- Assist maintenance with troubleshooting on all wrappers.
- Assure the proper label is on the cheese packages.
- Assure the proper information is printed on the packages.
- Check all bottom and end seals for quality.
- Perform sanitation duties as assigned.
- Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead.
Other requirements:
- Must demonstrate a commitment to both food and employee safety.
- Must be fully proficient on all operations of the wrappers.
- Must be able to train other employees on proper operation of the wrappers
- Must demonstrate exceptional communication skills.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical capabilities:
- Must be able to lift up to 38 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to lift 5 pounds frequently.
