What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Manager position at Bonitz of Georgia?
On a daily basis, you’ll manage the maintenance, inspections, and operation of our equipment. Using a cloud-based tracking program, you’ll maintain maintenance records on vehicles and equipment, be responsible for vehicle registrations, and ordering parts and supplies for the shop. When equipment or vehicles need to be sent out for repairs, you’ll coordinate & manage the service and coordinate with our Crews. Equipment is kept in our Savannah yard and shop. Occasionally you will assist other departments in the field. Travel and overnight stays will not exceed 10%. The primary location is Savannah but you may be needed in our Fayetteville location.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate all vehicle and equipment repairs with Crew Members and vendors
- Collect and maintain documents for all company vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate and obtain inspection stickers & registration tags for all trailers and applicable trucks
- Manage paperwork for federal, state and local filings
- Assist the Crew with equipment maintenance and repair when needed
- Inspect and maintain company grounds and building
- Order, maintain and securely store parts, supplies and PPE
- Inventory, maintain and securely store hand tools
- Repair damaged tools and equipment or coordinate with a vendor for repairs in a timely manner
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
- Maintain proper key inventory for company equipment
- Occasional travel to assist other departments in the field
- Obtain and maintain forklift, arial lift and rigging certifications within your first year of employment. The company will train you properly and pay for your certifications
- Move materials and trailers safely
- There is potential to obtain your CDL with us in the future
REQUIREMENTS – Bonitz of Georgia is a drug-free workplace
- Potential candidates must be willing to submit to a preemployment drug screening
- Meticulous maintenance record keeping skills
- Must have a mechanical background and aptitude to learn how to perform maintenance on our specialized equipment
- Minimum high school diploma and a technical and/or higher education is preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Familiarity with driving while pulling a trailer
