JOB TITLE: 1st Shift CNC SET-UP/OPERATOR
REPORTS TO: Shift Facilitator
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS: 10 hr. shifts (Mon-Thurs) 7:00 am- 5:00 pm) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary.
STARTING PAY: $22.64 per hour with the opportunity to earn more.

Bonnell Aluminum is North America’s premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.
We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size. Fabricators and distributors use our extruded profiles in various applications: curtain walls, storefronts, light to heavy commercial and institutional windows, walkway covers, interior architectural products, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat sinks for L.E.D. lighting, shower enclosures, hurricane protection products, automotive, light trucks, recreational vehicles, and industrial machinery.
We are headquartered in Newnan, Georgia. We have manufacturing operations in Newnan, Georgia; Carthage, Tennessee; Niles, Michigan; Clearfield, Utah; and Elkhart, Indiana.

What You Will Be Responsible For
- Setup and adjust CNC Machines
- Working knowledge of Vertical CNC Mills (3 and 4 Axis)
- Working knowledge of Horizontal Mills
- Working knowledge of all CNC screens and functions
- Work with Quality dept. to interpret layout data
- Perform equipment/maintenance checks to include:
- Able to understand material handling techniques to package parts off CNC as necessary
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
- Responsible for all machined parts on the CNC machine.
- Check coolant for refractometer reading
- Mix and fill new coolant
- Clean machine at the end of the shift
- Use and control of daily paperwork to include:
- Production sheet
- Parts progress reports
- Job traveler packet
- SPC quality sheets
- Other paperwork as necessary
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required per supervisor.
- Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems.
- Work in a safe manner always wearing all required Proper Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
- Able to participate in a collaborative environment.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Accepts feedback from the Team Leader to ensure the bundles meet safety standards.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
- Able to read and understand inspection tools. (Micrometers, calipers, comparator).
- CNC programming.
- Preferred experience with Haas, Brother and DMG Mori CNC Machining Centers
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must also pass a skills-based test.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
- Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
