Specific Responsibilities:
CNC Setup Operators
Join a team that is looking for individuals with leadership skills and the ability to guide, train and develop a strong CNC Department. This Full-Time position runs from 7:00 to 3:30.

Specific Responsibilities:
Set-Up:
- Loads part programs into the machine memory and makes necessary edits.
- Reads blueprints, tooling instructions and standard charts to determine product specifications, work holding arrangement, cutting speeds, feed rates, and cutting tools to be used.
- Moves controls, cams and stops to set rotations speeds and feed rates and to control tool and work piece movement for specified operations.
- Change or installs chucks or chuck jaws, collet systems and indicates them true.
- Changes tools and tool holders including boring bars, stick tools, drills, taps, reamers, mills.
- May be required to decide on station and timing of each operation to assure efficient use of tools and time.
- Runs a comparison first piece part and has it checked by another operator for conformance to specifications prior to production.
- Directs the machine to the proper tool position after installing new tools.
- Acquires gauging, sets up and masters gauging including the optical comparator.
Manufacturing / Production:
- Meets or exceeds expected production rates.
Machinery and Equipment:
- Capable of replacing and sharpening worn tooling without creating scrap.
- Safely operates electric pallet jack and/or forklift.
- Maintains machine in reference to cleaning, lubricants, coolant, etc.
- Operates efficiently by obtaining standard rates set for individual jobs.
- Lifts parts manually and positions and secures in chuck.
- Operates stamping press.
Problem Solving:
- Offsets a machine during the program if necessary.
- Identifies unusual problems including but not limited to concentricity, broken tooling, excessive cycle times, etc.
- Reworks parts that exceed specification.
- May compute such data as dimensions, rotation speeds, and feed rates, using knowledge of shop mathematics and tooling instructions.
Blueprints, Gauges and SPC:
- Reads and comprehends blueprints and tolerances.
- Lays out a part according to print with necessary measuring tools after each set-up before signing off on a check sheet.
- Masters the use of gauges, including the optical comparator, and checks master sized from the print.
- Maintains and understands SPC charting techniques.
- Verifies conformance of turned parts to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers and fixed gauges.
- Performs audits and tags properly.
Safety / Housekeeping:
- Maintains machinery in reference to cleaning, lubricants, and ensures that machinery is operated within safety guidelines.
- Responsible for working area and department cleanliness.
- Responsible for ensuring that machinery complies with safety guidelines.
General Responsibilities:
- Keeps President informed of anything that could affect the performance and profitability of the company.
- Performs any other duties, not specifically stated herein, but which may be assigned by the President and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
