JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
SHIFT DAYS /HOURS : (1) First, Second or Third shift: 8 hr. days: (Monday- Friday, & some weekends) (Note: 1) Placement on shifts will be determined by availability, need, and assessed ability (2) Must have a valid phone number on file and accept call outs (3) Willing to work overtime at a moment’s notice, and work until the job is completed•
What You Will Be Responsible For:
- Monitor, maintain, and execute maintenance duties throughout the plant.
- Weld, assemble, install, align troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and make improvements on a variety of manufacturing systems
- Execute facility and machine preventative maintenance duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager
- Responsible for/ accountable for operational and corrective facility and machine maintenance as needed
- Must have Prior Experience in: Maintenance related field and General knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Welding, beginning schematic reading, troubleshooting and ability to read and interpret manuals and blueprints.
- *** Note: Applicants will be required to complete a short Entry Level Test to assess existing skills. A passing grade must be issued in order to be considered for the open Maintenance Technician Apprentice Program
- Manages Others or Works With Others: Must work well independently or in a team, with minimum supervision
- Punctuality:Must arrive to work on time, return promptly from lunch/ breaks, and maintain good attendance
- Hazards:Must have an acute awareness of hazards within the plant
- Areas of Certification, Special Training, and Testing : Safety, education/training courses, and other testing and training . Maintain safety (including housekeeping), quality, and productivity to meet daily goals . Communicate information to ensure open, effective communication and continuous improvement to maximize productivity
- Monitor, maintain, and execute: Preventative, operational, and correctional maintenance duties Including, but not limited to: grounds work, janitorial activities, handling chemicals, setting up/ finishing/ and/or cleaning up after projects
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What You Will Need:
- Preferred Experience operating an overhead crane.
- Preferred experience with forklifts and Combi-lift.
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must also pass a skills-based test.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented. Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
