Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. As a Legal Assistant, you will support attorneys in managing cases, preparing legal documents, and ensuring efficient office operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with legal research using Westlaw and other resources.
- Manage legal case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and maintained.
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Maintain case management systems, utilizing PCLaw for tracking deadlines and appointments.
- Conduct document review to ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone and email while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Organize case-related materials and prepare for hearings or trials as needed.
- Support project management tasks to ensure timely completion of legal projects.
- Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and filing paperwork.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation law is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Westlaw and PCLaw or similar legal case management software.
- Strong document review skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
