Summary:
To process and maintain accounts payable records and provide timely and accurate financial and operational information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review invoices for proper authorization and general ledger account coding.
- Prepare accounts payable checks.
- Print all accounts payable reports and maintain accurate accounts payable files.
- Monthly reconciliation items.
- Research vendor inquiries.
- Clarify questionable invoice items, prices, or signatures; obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments.
- Maintain petty cash box and disperses funds as necessary.
- Assist Senior Accounting Specialist with Unclaimed Property reporting.
- Record information needed for year end 1099 report and 1099 tax forms.
- Assist with other day-to-day processes.
- Understanding coding process of invoices.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with data processing including business accounting applications.
Language Ability
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Experience with accounting software desired.

- Paid Sick and Safe Leave Policy: Full-Time Employees working a minimum of 30 hours are eligible for 80 hours of PSSL per year, which accrues at a rate of 3.077 hours each pay period.
- Holidays: 8 paid days, but open during certain holidays as stated below:
- Washington Memorial Park & Mortuary: Open on all holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
- Satellite Locations: Closed on all holidays except President’s Day and Veteran’s Day when they will maintain regularly scheduled business hours.
- Employees who work holidays may take another day off with prior approval.
