The role of Staff Accountant consists of general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Assist with general ledger maintenance by reviewing financial statements and preparing recommended adjustments, and reclassifications.
- Assist with accounting Month-end and Year-end Close Processes and Reconciliations.
- Business Personal Property, Sales & Use Tax filings and reports.
- Bank analysis and monthly reconciliations.
- Preparing documentation for external auditors.
- Research business expenditures categories and provide financial analysis for department leads.
- Assist and support other general accounting reporting functions.
- Accounts Receivable : Assist the A / R department during high volume months with answering incoming calls from customers, assisting customers with questions and statement reconciliations, perform outgoing calls for past due customers, and other general A / R tasks.
- Accounts Payable : Assist the A / P department during high volume months with entering invoices. This includes matching inventory line items between the invoice and PO and researching discrepancies.
