Bonnier LLC is seeking a results-driven, relationship-focused sales professional with passion for and strong experience in the saltwater boating and fishing industry to join The Marlin Group, the world’s largest big-game fishing network. The Marlin Group is a financially strong and rapidly growing entity that reaches more than a million boat owners, captains, anglers and mates annually. As an Associate Publisher / Sales Director, you’ll contribute to continued revenue growth across the group’s diverse mix of media channels, including print, digital and related experiential events. You will :
Develop and manage client relationships within the big-game fishing sector.
Build and present brand partnership opportunities that fully leverage The Marlin Group’s four integrated pillars : Media, Tournaments, Expeditions and Advocacy
Act as the main point of contact for existing and new accounts, selling across all channels, including print, email, website, social media and experiential events.
Collaborate with marketing and content teams to align campaigns with partner goals and maximize impact.
Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, client needs, and competitive dynamics to consistently deliver value to our clients.
The Ideal Candidate :
Experience, knowledge and network in the boating and fishing industry, or accomplished executive in a related advertising agency
Experienced in consultative selling towards established sales goals and quotas
Extremely strong intrapersonal skills, orally and in writing
Resourceful with strong prospecting and lead-generation skills
Aggressive self-starter, able to thrive in a virtual work environment
Available to travel for client meetings and to attend industry or company events
What You’ll Do :
The Associate Publisher / Sales Director reports to the Publisher and is responsible for sales management across an assigned client list, as well as for prospecting new clients. The role requires working closely with marketing, digital, content and other sales personnel to meet or exceed print, digital and event sponsorship revenue targets. The position will :
Build and maintain a strong network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their marketing objectives; identifies and suggests products and services to meet those needs.
Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; resolves any issues that may arise post-sale.
Maintain detailed reports of sales activities including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and any customer or vendor relationship problems.
Provide periodic territory sales forecasts.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the management.
About You :
This is a full-time position that requires a full-time effort. The job is remote, though applicants should reside in CA, CT, FL, IL, IN, KS, MA, MN, NY, NC, OH or WI. A home base of Central or South Florida is preferred due to proximity to other remote staff. You should have :
Relevant marine and fishing industry experience, with a strong network of contacts.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable with presenting client proposals
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to work independently yet collaboratively with other sales and marketing team members.
Strong understanding of print, digital media, and event sales strategies.
Proficiency in Adobe, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications.
