POSITION
Substitute Teacher, provides instruction to a group of 15-20 students in a variety of classroom environments.
Qualifications
Possess (1.) Valid non-emergency Preliminary/Clear Multiple Subject or Single Subject California teaching credential authorizing service at the elementary or secondary level.
NCLB Compliant Ability - Applicants must be able to teach basic education skills to students of varying age groups. Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Applicants should have the ability to work with students from diverse ethnic backgrounds.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: California law requires public educational employees to be fingerprinted for the purpose of a confidential background investigation. An applicant will be barred from employment if he or she has a prior conviction for a serious or violent felony as specified, unless the applicant has obtained a certificate of rehabilitation and pardon, or if for a serious felony, a court finding of rehabilitation.
Provisions of the Education Code require new employees to present evidence of freedom from tuberculosis.
BUSD requires a pre-employment drug screening (test to be scheduled through district provider and will be paid for by district).
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible work days, approximately 6.75 hours per day. Assignments are either day-to-day or long term.
LOCATION: These positions are located throughout the district. Substitutes may select all schools or select individual schools for available assignments.
