Position: Volunteer Hairstylist and Makeup Artist

Event: New York Fashion Week (February 2025)

Location: Backstage, Sony Hall NYFW Venues, New York City

Commitment: Temporary (Event-Based)

Overview:

Be part of the magic at one of the most prestigious events in the fashion industry—New York Fashion Week (NYFW). As a volunteer hairstylist or makeup artist, you will contribute your skills to create stunning runway looks, collaborating with top designers, models, and creative teams. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, high-profile environment, build your portfolio, and expand your professional network.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hairstylist Duties:

• Execute designer-approved hairstyles in alignment with the creative vision.
• Perform quick, efficient hair changes during runway presentations as needed.
• Ensure hair tools and products are organized, sanitized, and ready for use.

2. Makeup Artist Duties:

• Create runway-ready makeup looks as directed by lead artists and designers.
• Apply makeup efficiently while maintaining precision and quality.
• Be prepared for touch-ups and quick transitions during the event.

3. General Responsibilities:

• Collaborate effectively with lead artists, designers, and the backstage team.
• Adapt to last-minute changes while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and adhere to hygiene standards.
• Assist with additional tasks to ensure smooth backstage operations.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in hairstyling or makeup artistry.
• Previous experience in fashion shows, editorial work, or high-pressure environments is a plus.
• Strong understanding of current beauty trends and techniques.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and time-management skills.
• Punctuality, adaptability, and professionalism are essential.
