Position Description
We are seeking a motivated and organized Bookkeeper to ensure efficient financial records management. This role is perfect for someone looking to apply their accounting skills in a flexible work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- General Bookkeeping
- Managing accounts payable and receivable
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions for customer accounts
- Recording and reconciling daily financial transactions, including expenses, invoices, and receipts
- Managing banking activities, including account reconciliations
- Assemble and record deposits
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Track receivables for reporting and make collection calls
- Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve account discrepancies
- Prepare financial reports as needed
- Work with management to ensure timely/accurate billings to our customers
- Maintaining office filing systems and records
- Handling confidential files and records
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
- Minimum requirement: Associate Degree in Accounting or equivalent from a 2-year college and 3 years related experience, or 5 years related experience
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of general accounting practices and process
- Proficient in Intuit QuickBooks Online, and all software included in Microsoft Office
- Required broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and the ability to deal with complex accounting issues
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage workload
- Ability to work and interact with departments throughout the organization
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and handle confidential information with integrity
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 pounds and do other light office work
- Able to withstand long hours on the phone or sitting at a desk
- Ability to type for extended periods
- Ability to stand for long periods when working on specific projects
