BookTix is looking for a personable, creative, and hard-working full-time Business Manager to join our team and help oversee financial operations and business administration. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role also involves supporting day-to-day business operations to improve efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
The position is full-time—great position for someone with a flexible schedule and a background in the performing arts. Night and weekend availability required as needed.
A good fit for our team should be independently motivated, have a strong work ethic, time management skills, and be extremely organized. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be comfortable on the phone, be computer savvy, think fast on their feet, and love to think outside the box. Must be a team player. Experience in the arts and/or box office/ticketing is a plus.
Job responsibilities will include:
Financial Management
- Assist with budgeting, reimbursements, and client payments
- Oversee operational purchasing
- Reconcile revenue reports and client accounts
- Handling client chargebacks from credit card processors
- Generate financial statements and reports
- Coordinate with external accountants and auditors
Staff Management & HR
- Handle payroll, help create and enforce HR policies and procedures
- Oversee staff sick time, reimbursements, and travel expenses
- Support additional HR functions, such as employee records management and benefits administration
Organizational Compliance
- Maintain and track deadlines for tax filings, registrations, and labor filings
- Manage payments to partnerships and affiliations
Contract Negotiations
- Serve as the point of contact for negotiations with clients and external vendors.
- Review change requests with senior leadership team for approval on contracts and other agreements.
Client Support
- Provide assistance with client financial inquiries
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School graduate, college degree preferred
-Proven Bookkeeping, Human Resources, or Business Administration experience
-High attention to detail
-Highly Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
-Time-management skills for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable with Zoom, team chat, and online file management systems. Experience with Zoho or other CRM software a plus, but willing to train.
- Must have a secure and reliable computer as well as a reliable, high-speed Internet connection.
- Self-starter and able to work well independently, as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Personable and energetic with a good sense of humor
- Box Office experience a plus
- Candidates must reside and work in the State of New Jersey or New York.
