What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator position at Boomerang Healthcare?
The Rehabilitation Services Program Coordinator is responsible for the general coordination of multidisciplinary evaluations and pre-admission, program participation and transition planning for patients in the Functional Restoration Programs. The Rehabilitation Services Coordinator will handle all MDE, and FRP authorization requests, appeals, and admissions, and will track patients throughout their FRP programs. They will issue internal authorization to the Local Rehabilitation Services Coordinator. Responsibilities include screening candidates, submitting RFAs, coordinating appeals, granting internal authorization, and interfacing with billing to ensure pre-claims requirements are met. The goal of the role is to authorize/schedule only those patients' setup for proper, expected, reimbursement.

What you will do:
Responsible for managing new patient referrals and authorizations- Maintains authorization module for multidisciplinary evaluations and programs communicating authorizations and denials for requested treatment to all applicable parties such as: patient, MD, NCM attorneys, within a timely manner according to contractual agreements and/or Workers Compensation laws.
- Maintains patient census as directed by management by performing pre-admission coordination and scheduling for multidisciplinary evaluations and programs including payer resource for lodging and/ or transportation services.
- Works closely with referring MD communicating evaluation and program denials, obtaining required appeal letters and forwarded to carriers within the required time frame.
- Acts as primary contact for program participants in relation to; abscesses, transportation problems, interpreter concerns and other day to day issues that arise.
- Prepares and facilitates weekly program conferences to include arrangements for outside visitors, conference calls, and maintenance and distribution of weekly program status reports.
- Create weekly templates in IMS, Compiles evaluation, weekly program and discharge summary reports from providers for entry in IMS and distribution to appropriate parties.
- Administers and provides guidance of psychological testing during evaluations as well as, pre, mid and post programs to persons served.
- Creates video link for online classes, sends to patients and providers.
- Acts as liaison and resource to the FRP care team, prospective patients, persons served, and others as it relates to evaluations and programs.
- Maintain inventory levels for evaluation and program related materials.
- Makes purchases as needed for functional restoration program with authorization of program director.
- Submit invoices, immediately upon receival, to the accounting department.
- Keep the facility clean, organized, and laundry service is scheduled.
- Track expenses and upload receipts to Emburse.
- Communicates with patients, visitors and staff in a courteous, respectful, supportive and professional manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience with EMR/EHR systems desirable
- 1-2 years in the healthcare field preferred
- Problem Solving; identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develop alternative solutions
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
$24.00 to $27.00 Hourly
