Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Design Center Manager to join our dynamic team here at Boone Paint & Interiors! The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming spaces and a strong understanding of design principles. This role involves collaborating with clients to create functional and aesthetically pleasing environments that meet their needs and preferences while also bringing in new clients by advertising our unique Design services. The Design Manager will work on various projects, from residential to commercial, ensuring that each design reflects the client's vision while adhering to budgetary constraints while also efficently upholding our unique design services. This full-time postion offers pay based on experience with room for growth and improvement. We look forward to getting to know you! This position will also be responsible for overseeing part-time employees in the Design center as well as tracking, entering orders/purchase orders, shipments, etc.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist clients in selecting design elements to meet their vision and needs.
- Drive sales by building strong relationships and providing expert recommendations.
- Utilze computer skills to manage design projects, products orders, and client communications.
- Demonstrate a strong eye for color, style, and trends to create cohesive design solutions.
- Apply color theory effectively to enhance the aesthetic appeal of spaces.
- Adapt quickly to new systems and processes in a fast-moving industry.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance while engaging with clients and team members.
- Draft contracts and manage project timelines to ensure timely completion.
- Oversee the selection of materials, furnishings, and fixtures that align with the client's vision and budget.
- Coordinate with contractors, architects, and other professionals involved in the project.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to provide innovative solutions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Interior Design experince is strongly preferred by not required.
- An understanding of CAD software, Revit, and Sketchup to create detailed floor plans and 3D models (preferred but not required).
- Strong sales and customer service skills with a "go-getter" attitude.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to learn design software and other business applications quickly.
- Excellent interpersonal skills - a true people person who enjoys collaboration.
- Strong understanding of color theory and its application in interior design.
- Drafting skills for creating detailed plans and specifications (preferred but not required)
- Knowledge of budgeting processes related to interior design projects.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients through effective communication.
- Experience in window coverings, wallpapers, paints, and more is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative problem-solving skills to address design challenges effectively.

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
