What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Boonzaaijer's Dutch Bakery?
Duties:
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, bread, and other baked goods according to recipes and established standards.
- Decorate cakes and pastries using various techniques and tools.
- Ensure all baked goods are of high quality, properly portioned, and presented attractively.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate baking schedules and ensure timely production of baked goods.
- Assist with the packaging and labeling of baked goods for display or delivery.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of pastry techniques, cake decorating, and various baking methods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely production of baked goods.
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating recipe quantities.
