Position Overview: One of our Department of State contracts is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator to provide technical assistance and support for computer systems, hardware, and software. The ideal candidate will also manage internal support for the company’s PCs, servers, and network infrastructure. Responsibilities include end-user support, systems maintenance, troubleshooting, and other related tasks.
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must hold a minimum Interim Secret clearance and be able to secure a full scope Secret clearance
Work Location: Springfield, VA
Work Schedule (On-site): Five (5) days a week on-site at the customer’s facility

Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues
- Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, printers, and other peripherals
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with operating systems, office applications, and other software
- Respond to support requests through various channels including in-person, email, and phone
- Document issues and solutions in a clear and concise manner
- Manage and maintain server and network infrastructure including Windows servers and switches
- Perform maintenance tasks such as backups, disaster recovery planning and system updates
- Monitor and optimize system performance ensuring reliability, security, and availability
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in various systems (Windows Active Directory, Azure Admin portal, and Office 365, etc.)
- Enforce network security protocols and procedures
- Coordinate with vendors for support and procurement of IT equipment and services
- Support IT projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise
- Help develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve IT infrastructure and support
- Collaborate with IT leadership on long-term strategies for IT infrastructure
- Candidate must be a United States Citizen and present proof of Citizenship, if selected
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 4 years of experience in desktop support and systems administration roles
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS), Microsoft Office Suite, and common software applications
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and network infrastructure
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently and effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical users
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on user satisfaction
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network , Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, equivalent are preferred
- Proven ability to manage IT projects
- Strong mentoring abilities with a focus on team development
- Ability to lift and move IT equipment, including computers, monitors, and servers
- A good mix of office-based and remote support
- Limited travel may be required for off-site support, training, or conferences
