Job Summary:
The System Administrator II will support the Merit Systems Protection Board's (MSPB) IT Operations Team in maintaining and modernizing legacy and cloud-based systems. This role involves managing Microsoft Active Directory Hybrid environments, Azure, Microsoft Intune, and related systems to ensure secure and effective IT operations. The position includes troubleshooting, documentation, and emergency outage support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-call support for after-hours server outages.
- Maintain, configure, and troubleshoot servers including DNS, DHCP, AD, ADFS, and Nutanix virtual servers.
- Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) using VMware.
- Manage Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Endpoint for laptops and mobile devices.
- Administer Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 cloud applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure environments.
- Build and restore servers as needed (Domain, DNS, DHCP, AD, and Nutanix virtual servers).
- Perform server performance troubleshooting and security auditing.
- Implement security improvements and document change management processes.
- Generate weekly status reports detailing activities and progress.
- Deliver high-level customer service and communicate effectively with MSPB staff.
Education:
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- A bachelors degree may reduce experience requirements (see below).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT, with at least 3 years of specialized experience in:
- Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, and Endpoint management.
- Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, and Active Directory environments.
- Windows and iOS device management.
- PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration.
- DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Exchange administration.
- Linux troubleshooting (intermediate level).
Certifications:
- Required: Microsoft Certified Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or similar certifications (e.g., Azure, Intune).
- Preferred: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA).
Clearance Requirement:
- A security clearance is not required.
- Must pass criminal history background checks and sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Salary Range: $91,000 to $111,400

Travel Requirements:
