SENIOR CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER

Description
We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee
multiple concurrent projects throughout the United States. The role would be based at our company
headquarters location in southern New Jersey, with 25%-50% travel required to consistently visit out-of-
region jobsites.
Prior experience in managing multimillion dollar public sector projects required -- i.e. federal facilities,
government buildings, higher education facilities. Experience with federal government contracts a
preference. Projects are typically in the $1 million to $10 million range and may involve design-build, new
construction, renovations, historic preservation, elevator systems, and LEED green building certification.
The ability to travel out-of-region frequently or for extended periods is required. Housing, transportation,
and food per diems are offered for travel.
Leadership duties include:
Enforcing a rigorous culture of safety at the jobsite through EM385-1-1 and OSHA safety standards
Managing field managers to successfully perform their daily operations to meet the safety, quality,
cost, and schedule requirements of the contract
Motivating internal staff, subcontractors, and other project team members to do their best every day
and represent the high standards of our company
Specific duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintaining a safe, high quality, project that is on schedule and profitable
Maintaining owner, design team, subcontractor, and vendor relationships
Maintaining current knowledge of safety, quality control, and other compliance practices
Negotiating and writing subcontracts and supplier agreements
Employing formal quality control and project management procedures
Establishing and maintaining critical path schedules
Managing the timely and accurate submission of invoices
Motivating internal team members through leadership, mentorship, and best practices
Keeping executive management informed of key performance indicators
Requirements
Bachelor degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
Minimum 10 years of experience in public sector, multimillion dollar construction contracts
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in Construction
Ability to travel 25%-50% to consistently visit out-of-region jobsites
True passion for safety and the enforcement of such on construction project sites
High level communication skills in both verbal and written domains
Ability to motivate others to achieve and to discipline where necessary
Positive, self-confident, assertive attitude
Belief in adaptability and the need for continuous self-improvement
Satisfactory background check and drug testing for access to high security government locations
Preferred
Federal construction contracting experience
US Army Corps of Engineers Quality Control Management certification
EM385 Site Safety and Health Officer or OSHA 30 certification
Experience with design-build, historic preservation, elevator systems, or LEED green building
