CHANNEL LETTER FABRICATOR POSITION SUMMARY:
Bootz & Duke Sign Co. is a premier full-service sign company that has been serving Arizona and National Accounts since 1964. The Letter Fabricator is responsible for executing professional, quality letter fabrications per project designs and blueprints. Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate has three years of channel letter fabrication experience and the ability to build high quality letters, in a timely manner.

The Letter Fabricator is responsible for executing professional, quality letter fabrications per project designs and blueprints. Able to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining safety standards. The ideal candidate has three years of channel letter fabrication experience and the ability to build high quality letters, in a timely manner.
COMPENSATION:
- This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position.
- Regular working hours are Monday – Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm.
- Pay range is $25.00 - $30.00 DOE.
- Some OT may be available but is not guaranteed.
DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years’ experience in a sign shop fabricating letters, including reverse pan channel letters.
- Strong working knowledge of metal fabrication and welding.
- Plans, prepares, and uses materials to be cut in a matter to keep waste to a minimum.
- Interpret correct workflow based on order notes and ability to read blueprints, legend symbols, scale of plan, and diagrams.
- Experience and ability to operate welding equipment and machinery, including, but not limited to benders, saws, brakes, cutting tables, forklifts, etc.
- Bends and shapes sign parts by hand or by using brakes according to job specifications.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, and reshaping.
- Maintain quality control and safety during material handling, cutting, and welding.
- Complete all tasks, and to-dos as assigned by your supervisor.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Thorough grasp of OSHA safety standards and procedures.
- Regular attendance is required.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ability to use basic hand tools, power tools, tape measure, grinders, and saws in a safe manner.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fraction.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
- Ability to read a tape measure, down to the 1/16".
- Requires good judgment, ability to work with others, and perform other tasks as assigned.
- Ability to review drawings and ask appropriate questions when direction is needed.
- Strong attention to detail.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Extensive and prolonged periods of standing; gross and fine manipulation of one’s hands and fingers; reaching at or below the shoulder; near and far visual acuity; ability to tolerate loud sounds in a partially enclosed shop environment; ability to hear, speak, and work independently (up to 8 hours).
- Additional physical demands include the ability to tolerate temperature shifts and extremes, with proper hydration, including exposure to heat and cold (up to 8 hours).
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend, stoop, lift, push, pull and reach overhead for prolonged periods.
