What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Clerk position at Border Region Behavioral Health Center?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs data entry for the medical record unit. Responsible for filing, entering, and retrieving data from computerized programs, scanning, releasing medical records information, maintaining, and tracking files/logs and receiving unit calls. Responsible for opening case assignments and case inactivation. Maintains a log of all information being released using the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) website. Distributes correspondence and paperwork to internal and external offices.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of clerical or secretarial work experience OR
- Thirty (30) hours of classes from an accredited college or vocational/technical institution
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Type 35 wpm
- Knowledge in the use of word processing/spreadsheet software
- Ability to organize work independently and utilize work time efficiently
- Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette
- Knowledge in business terminology, office practices and procedures
- Ability to accept constructive feedback and utilize it for professional growth
- Ability to interact with co-workers and the public
- Ability to communicate effectively orally/written in English and Spanish
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $12.85 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
