Borealis Basecamp is a northern lights-focused adventure resort in Fairbanks, AK. We provide a unique experience with domed igloo-shaped rooms, with a clear ceiling for viewing the aurora from the comfort of your room. We provide extensive on-site activities, including snow machine tours, dog sledding, reindeer adventures, and helicopter tours. In addition to hotel guests, we offer day tours from Fairbanks through our Basecamp Adventures brand.

One of our sister companies is Alaska Private Touring, which provides custom guided private multi-day tours across Alaska. During the summer, Borealis Basecamp provides transportation services for Alaska Private Touring.

Position Description
Borealis Basecamp is growing rapidly and we are seeking a Transport Manager to lead all aspects of transportation and fleet management. This position will report to the General Manager and is a key part of our leadership team.
We are looking for a dedicated, friendly, energetic person who enjoys interacting with guests. The transportation manager will be responsible for getting guests to and from Basecamp, managing day tours through Basecamp Adventures, and managing driver guides for multi-day tours through Alaska Private Touring. We are looking for someone who excels at solving problems and wants to grow with us as a company.

Manager Duties: Fairbanks
Shuttle service to and from Borealis Basecamp
Transport supplies to and from Basecamp and Fairbanks,
Expediting needed items for Basecamp operations
Order pickup and delivery by department
Provide Day Tour Services and Oversee Operations
Arctic Circle, City Tour, Aurora Viewing, Chena Hot Springs, Denali
Oversee daily vehicle checks, maintenance on fleet
Hiring/Terminations
Oversee DOT For Hire operations of less than 10GVWR vehicles
Driver scheduling
Departmental Inventory
Navigate our IT systems

Manager Duties: Anchorage
· Manage multi-day driver guide schedule
· Provide training courses for summer driver guides serving southcentral and interior Alaska
· Maintain housing plan for summer seasonal drivers
· Oversee maintenance of fleet and luggage trailers
· Other duties as assigned

Salary: $78,000

Bonus:
Transport manager will be eligible to receive an annual bonus (each a “Bonus”) in an amount equal to up to ten percent (10%) of Managers then-current Base Salary, subject to withholdings and deductions as required or permitted by law. Bonus shall be paid twice annually, with each payment up to 5% of then-current Base Salary. The amount of each Bonus, if any, shall be determined at the discretion of Borealis on the basis of the financial performance of Borealis, achievement of goals, and other operating metrics determined by the President of Borealis. Manager shall receive each Bonus that is awarded at the discretion of Borealis at the first regular payroll date that falls after either May 15 or December 15, as the case may be (each a “Bonus Payment Date”).
