We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator to join our team at Boretec, a leader in designing, building, and distributing boring and tunneling machinery. The Inventory Coordinator will play a key role in managing inventory, sourcing parts, and ensuring timely distribution to both the service department and retail customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the heavy machinery or industrial parts sector, a strong understanding of inventory systems, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Knowledge of Industry-Specific Parts:
- Assist customers and technicians in identifying and sourcing parts specific to boring and tunneling machinery.
- Stay up-to-date with technical advancements and product specifications related to heavy machinery and construction equipment.
2. Vendor Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors specializing in industrial and construction equipment.
- Track pricing, lead times, and availability for parts critical to operations.
- Keep up to date with new products and vendors.
3. Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels of all items in Boretec’s inventory.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and ensure timely restocking of parts.
- Use inventory management software to track, place and receive orders, accept and manage deliveries, and maintain stock levels.
4. Shipping and Receiving:
- Arrange and oversee shipping logistics, particularly for larger components and equipment.
- Receive, record, and manage all incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
5. Customer Service:
- Provide accurate quotes for parts and services.
- Assist customers in resolving issues related to part returns, warranties, and special orders.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
6. Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols when handling large parts and equipment.
- Operate a forklift to unload and load heavy parts, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification or coursework in supply chain management is a plus.
- Prior experience in an industrial parts department, preferably in heavy machinery or construction equipment.
- Proficiency in inventory management systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Reliable transportation and good attendance record.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
