POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for reporting and analysis relating to physical inventory and cost accounting. Responsible for maintaining the standard cost system. Assist with internal and external customer quotations and financial appropriations requests. Responsible for management reporting and variance analysis. Participate in the overall management and leadership of the business to achieve growth and optimal use of resources for BorgWarner Morse Systems and BorgWarner Corporate Economic Value.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain existing and design new management reports relating to inventory, productivity, and costing annually, and on an as needed basis.
- Monitor and analyze inventory and intercompany sales transaction on an ongoing basis and recommend/ implement corrective action as required.
- Assist with the planning, preparation and conducting of the annual physical inventory of production materials, perishable tooling and MRO.
- Prepare supporting detail and analysis and make recurring and adjusting journal entries for the month, quarter, and year-end financial closing process relating to inventory, inventory reserves, and costing.
- Provide support for the annual budgeting process as required.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations relating to relating to inventory, inventory reserves, and costing.
- Update the Ithaca – Chain plant standard cost system bills of material, routing, and costing rates annually and on an as needed basis.
- Maintain the intercompany sales data base in the JDE system with correct cost and price information.
- Work independently (or with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Materials and other departments as required) to analyze, quantify, and make recommendation with regard to variances or expense abnormalities. Work effectively with all levels of management to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Responsible for identifying/ implementing process improvements to enhance resource effectiveness and eliminate waste within the organization.
- Adhere to the BorgWarner Corporate and BorgWarner Morse Systems policy and procedure in the areas of inventory management, cost and quoting activities.
Safety and Health – Responsible for completing required safety training, reporting and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and health requirements for respective position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- BS in Accounting, finance or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience of increasing responsibility with a strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.
- CPA or CMA a plus.
- MBA is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technical skills.
- Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of JDE is a plus.
