Preventative Maintenance Technician
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Responsible for routine preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled on all plant equipment as assigned.
Routine Maintenance consists of:
- Filter cleaning / replacement
- Fluid / grease level inspection and filling
- Equipment lubrication
- Equipment / pit / component cleaning
- Equipment solution changes
- Basic seal / gasket replacement
- Component inspection
- Plant inspections
- Condenser removal / cleaning / installation
- Basic equipment / component repairs as needed
General:
- Assist Maintenance Technicians during major equipment repairs and / or projects as needed
- Participate in OJT (On the Job Training) of maintenance technician tasks on a continual basis to obtain the necessary skills to progress into a MT position.
- Review Preventive Maintenance schedules on a daily basis and ensure on-time completion
- Enter completion of PM’s and other requests into the MP2 system when completed
- Maintain Clear and consistent communication between all maintenance personnel and management
- Support a philosophy of Zero Accidents by following all applicable safety procedures and maintaining an attitude that accidents are preventable
- Must follow BW PDS Procedures & Work Instructions.
- Ability to work overtime on short notice. Always follow facility-wide safety guidelines for items such as PPE, Powered Industrial Trucks, Visitors (including drivers), and Chemical Review and Approval.
- Use handcarts for moving / transporting small heavy items.
- Properly use hand tools and equipment for preventing safety related issues.
- Notify Team Leader or Mgt of any unsafe acts throughout plant.
- Operate equipment practicing safe and productive work habits.
- Maintain clean & organized work area.
- Be aware of others around you – close working environment.
- When business needs arise, properly train personnel in the duties and responsibilities outlined within this position description.
Inventory
- Maintain / review inventory levels as defined within job scope
- Properly notify when inventory levels need to be replenished
- Properly sign out all MRO items from inventory
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience (minimum qualifications)
· High School Diploma or GED
· Previous PM experience in a Manufacturing Equipment Environment Preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to navigate through necessary BW PDS files / folders and databases
Efficient use of Excel (spreadsheets), and Outlook (email/calendar).
Basic skills including alphanumeric data entry for proper use of BW PDS databases.
