What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Immigration Attorney position at Borjas Law Group LLC?
Immigration law firm seeks bilingual attorney (SPANISH and ENGLISH) for its principal office located in downtown Chicago. Courtroom experience is preferred.
Salaries are dependent on experience level. Candidates with 5 years of immigration experience (or more) will be offered a higher pay rate. Candidates with minimal or no experience will be trained.
The candidate should:
· Have a J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school and be an active member of the bar in good standing.
· Be a licensed attorney in the U.S.
· Possess an interest in Immigration Law including but not limited to: asylum, U-visas, VAWA, family based petitions, waivers, and immigration court cases.
· Be thorough, able to work independently, and enjoy working with people.
· Be proficient in legal research, word processing, and document databases.
· Be able to resolve and troubleshoot complex legal issues
· Be able draft complex case matters including support letters, legal memos, and appeals.
· Be well organized with the ability to plan and schedule cases on a priority basis.
· Possess the ability to work efficiently and proficiently in a fast-paced environment.
