At Borla Performance, we are seeking a skilled Cost Accountant to join our finance department. As a Cost Accountant you will play a crucial role in supporting the CFO in carrying out accounting activities for the company, providing financial analysis, and working with various levels of management throughout a growing company.
Responsibilities include:
- Responsible for all functions in preparation and distribution of cost accounting reports.
- Compiles, prepares, and maintains month-end cost accounting reports including PPV, Inventory Turns, Inventory Usage, and FIFO/Valuation Analysis.
- Reviews standard costs in conjunction with PPV reports to maintain cost accuracy. Performs cost rolls as requested and manages yearly cost roll process.
- Supports cost saving initiatives with data tracking/reporting and interaction with appropriate managers.
- Prepares Surplus & Obsolete inventory reports. Analyzes S&O details and makes recommendations to reduce S&O and improve inventory turns.
- Assists in financial statement forecasting.
- Generates reports to Management as requested.
- Interacts with outside IT consultants to improve financial reporting.
- Assists in the coordination of the year-end physical inventory.
- Responsible for multi-company accounting.
- Prepares month-end reconciliations for other accounts as assigned.
- Back-up capabilities for other department members as needed.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a Bachelors degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university
You must meet the following qualifications for consideration:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; or a bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in Accounting from an accredited college or university
- Required minimum of 3 years' experience in an Accountant position in a manufacturing environment
- Required experience with departmental spending, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Required experience with general accounting including financial statement and cost/variance account reporting.
- Required experience in a standard cost manufacturing environment. Must understand BOMs, routings, DL and OH rates.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel skills
- Able to handle highly confidential business transactions without divulging information
- Must be detailed oriented
- Must be able to balance multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to adhere to tight deadlines
- Required maturity and experience to interface with all levels of management
- Analytical skills
