Job Description:
Exciting Financial Management opportunity in rapidly growing aircraft integration company. Reporting to Executive Management, the Accounting & Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the company, specifically within the defense contracting sector. The Accounting & Finance Manager will provide critical financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure the company’s financial health while maintaining compliance with government contracts, industry regulations, and internal controls. The Accounting & Finance Manager has ample potential for advancement to other management positions.
Qualifications:
The Accounting & Finance Manager must have a minimum of 5-7 years of recent, progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in managerial role, within a DOD Contractor. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field is required, but MBA or CPA strongly preferred. Significant experience with government contracting, cost accounting, and compliance requirements (e.g., FAR, CAS). Must have proven knowledge of financial systems and ERP platforms. In addition, the Accounting & Finance Manager must have demonstrated experience in a wide range of Financial Reporting & Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting, Government Contract Compliance, and Internal Controls & Financial Systems. The Finance Manager will lead, develop and mentor a small accounting team as well as engage internal and external stakeholder on a regular basis.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Prepares and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
· Provides insights on key financial metrics, trends, and variances
· Ensures the integrity of financial data and maintain accurate records
· Prepares ad-hoc reports and financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
· Develops, implement, and maintain the company’s annual budget
· Monitors performance against budget forecasts and identify potential risks or opportunities
· Provides recommendations to optimize financial performance and resource allocation
· Oversees financial aspects of government contracts, ensuring compliance with cost accounting standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), and other relevant regulations
· Prepares and review cost proposals, billings, and audits for government contracts
· Develops rates for use in estimating
· Submits and negotiate annual Provisional Billing Rates
· Compiles and submit the annual DCAA Incurred Cost Submission
· Inputs billing in PIEE/WAWF
· Develops ETC/EACs
· Manages the process for indirect rate monitoring, proposals and negotiations
· Interfaces and works with DCAA and DCMA to achieve necessary goals
· Ensures robust internal controls are in place for accurate and compliant financial reporting
· Works with IT and relevant teams to maintain and optimize financial systems and software
· Assists in the development and documentation of financial policies and procedures
· Negotiates and maintain all insurance coverages necessary for business and aircraft operations
· Keeps all licenses, registrations and certifications current as necessary for successful business operations
· Interfaces with outside agencies such as Homeland Security, Bureau of Labor Statistics, D&B and banks
· Supervises and mentor finance staff, providing guidance on day-to-day tasks, professional development, and performance reviews
· Fosters a collaborative and results-driven work environment
· Serves as a point of contact for finance-related matters with executive staff, external auditors, clients, and regulatory agencies
· Collaborates with other departments (e.g., procurement, operations, engineering, program management) to ensure financial processes are aligned with business objectives
