The Corporate Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, this role manages general ledger activities, month-end close processes, financial statement preparation, and reconciliations. Additionally, the Corporate Accountant supports AP/AR functions, tax compliance, and financial reporting using Restaurant365 (R365) and Sage.
Key Responsibilities:
Operations
· Preparation of month-end closing checklist and ensuring execution of the same
· Perform month end close cut off and review procedures for A/P, A/R
· Support in preparing regular financial reports such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
· Document accounting policies and processes with the support of the team
· Recording daily financial transactions into accounting software, including sales, purchases, payments received, and expenses incurred.
· Process invoices for corporate and third-party vendors and reconcile corporate credit cards
· Support AP in processing vendor bills, verifying accuracy, and providing payment run to Senior Accountant
· Perform reconciliations for bank statements, corporate credit cards, intercompany accounts and report discrepancies
· Maintain General ledger by posting transactions to the appropriate accounts within the general ledger
· Calculate corporate overhead allocations and provide to Senior Accountant
· Assisting with gathering information for tax filings
· Maintaining proper filing systems for financial records and adhering to accounting standards and regulations
· Maintain an accurate fixed asset register, including details like asset description, location, depreciation
· Daily bank cash deposit review and provide to the Senior Accountant
· Maintain proper internal controls and segregation of duties
· Support third-party tax preparers with federal, state, and local tax compliance
Technology
· Leverage Tools / excel spread sheets for relevant financial reports
· Manage accurate accounting for financial and management reporting through R365
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree (BBA) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
· 3-5 years of accounting experience in a corporate or hospitality setting.
· Experience in hospitality, food & beverage, or real estate industries is preferred.
Skill Sets
· Experience in data entry, accounting & bookkeeping
· Proficiency in financial software and accounting tools (R365, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
