Position Description
Collaborates with the Payroll leadership to evaluate payroll processes and develop, implement and test advanced payroll systems. Provides training and guidance to payroll staff members. Performs payroll logistics/processing activities to ensure timely and accurate crediting of payment to accounts, reconciliation and confirmation payroll through the generation and analysis of reports.
The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for:
- Participating in the development of advanced payroll systems, such as employee self-service and conversion of absence management to third-party administration.
- Planning, developing, testing, and implementing system enhancements in accordance with project plans.
- Attending payroll project planning or payroll policy meetings and providing input into planned system enhancements, alerting implementation teams to potential issues as they arise, and offering input into policy guidance.
- Receiving, reviewing, and responding to wage and child support and other notices. Balancing, preparing, and submitting payment for all withholding orders.
- Verifying and recording payroll information and obtaining hours confirmation to release payment as needed.
- Arranging inter- and intra-hospital payroll methodologies for department managers. Documenting and following-up on all discrepancies, including missing hours, taxes, wages, and required authorizations/approvals for paycheck disbursements, ensuring compliance with hospital personnel policies.
- Verifying adjustments for voided, manual, or special check requests.
- Performing payroll logistics/processing activities to ensure timely and accurate crediting of payments to accounts, reconciling, and confirming payroll through the generation and analysis of reports.
- Funding tax accounts, ensuring direct deposit and check issuance transmission are processed to banks.
- Performing compliance and functional audits. Ensuring compliance of hospital personnel, payroll, and benefit policies with federal and state requirements.
- Maintaining all appropriate tax information for employees and the hospital in accordance with IRS code and filing requirements. Verifying biweekly Patient Services payroll file processing and reconciling related variances.
- Reviewing exception reports prior to pay sheet load, calculating pay sheets, and correcting exceptions as needed.
- Scheduling check disbursements for employees and department managers, coordinating earned time payouts, procedures, or documentation with other departments or institutions.
- Training payroll staff on daily activities and providing guidance and direction as assigned on payroll operations and procedures.
To qualify you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field Business or Finance is required
- Two years of payroll administration experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
