Senior Credit and Collections Specialist

Job Description:

The Senior Credit and Collections Specialist will play a central role in collaborating with key stakeholders within finance and across the organizationon, with a focus on billing accuracy, monthly reconciliation efforts, invoice creating/tracking, cash application, and account collection while striving for operational excellence. This position will support the credit and collection efforts across all BGMP categories including Print, Digital, and Events. As this team member will be instrumental in monitoring customer credit lines, contacting overdue accounts, and utilizing various collection strategies to ensure timely payments, excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail will be key attributes of a successful candidate.

Responsibilities:

• Review credit applications, assess customer creditworthiness, and determine appropriate credit limits based on established guidelines.
• Track customer account balances, identify overdue accounts, and prioritize collection efforts based on aging reports.
• Reach out to customers with past due accounts to remind them of outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Identify root causes of overdue payments by analyzing individual customer activity and develop effective collection strategies.
• Investigate and resolve payment disputes with customers, addressing billing errors and providing necessary documentation.
• Record customer payments, update account statuses, and ensure accurate application of payments.
• Generate reports on collection activity, outstanding debt levels, and key performance indicators.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree plus at least three years of credit and collections experience.
• Team player with a strong work ethic.
• Experience managing multiple competing priorities and responsibilities.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Experience with order management systems.
• Demonstrable record of professional written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
