Booming innovative Biotech startup at the forefront of cancer research seeks an Lab Assistant to support the Senior Scientists with all their administrative needs. Ideal candidate will have experience working in in a lab or supporting a Scientist. Need strong communication skills for this very visible interactive role.
Job Description:
The Lab Assistant / Office Assistant will play a pivotal role in keeping our research operations running smoothly. You will support the scientists, facilities, IT as well as managing daily administrative tasks, and help facilitate the smooth flow of the lab. This is an ideal position for someone who has both strong administrative experience and is comfortable working in lab a setting.
Job responsibilities:
Support scientists with projects as needed in the lab
Prepare and organize documents and reports
Act as a liaison between the head scientist, team members, and external collaborators.
Work with facilities team as well as IT. There is also some event coordination which will allow you to interact with the corporate office located in Boston, MA.
General Office and Lab Management:
Ensure the office environment is organized, stocked, and conducive to efficient work.
Help manage incoming phone calls, emails, and other correspondence.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., science, healthcare administration, business).
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or support role in a LAB environment. Biotechnology experience is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Workspace.
Attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information.
Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
A proactive, positive attitude and a passion for supporting scientific discovery
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a biotech, healthcare, or cancer research-related field.
Familiarity with lab environments.
