Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, fixation, embedding, cutting, and staining of tissue samples
- Operate and maintain histology lab equipment, including microtomes, tissue processors, and staining instruments
- Perform quality control checks to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Maintain proper documentation of sample processing and test results in accordance with laboratory protocols
- Follow all laboratory safety and compliance guidelines, including handling and disposal of biohazard materials
- Assist pathologists and histotechnologists with specimen processing and slide preparation
- Keep a clean and organized laboratory environment
- Associates or Bachelors degree in a related field (Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Histotechnology, etc.) preferred
- Previous experience in a histology lab or clinical laboratory setting is a plus
- Familiarity with histological techniques, including tissue processing, microtomy, and staining
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in laboratory documentation and computer systems
