Job Summary: The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation and upkeep of the facility. This role involves cleaning, minor repairs, equipment installation, and system inspections. The Facilities Technician will collaborate with other professionals during renovations and manage heating, plumbing, and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping, and minor fixes.

·        Conduct minor repairs, including repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, and painting.

·        Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.

·        Install appliances and equipment.

·        Replace light bulbs and repair restroom fixtures.

·        Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g., ventilation).

·        Check the functionality of safety systems (e.g., fire alarm).

·        Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.

·        Perform minor carpentry duties or handyman-type requests.

·        Plan and schedule repairs.

·        Utilize the Service Now request portal.

·        Manage heating and plumbing systems.

·        Follow safety precautions and adhere to schedules.

·        Maintain maintenance logs.

·        Diagnose and repair broken assets.

·        Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance.

·        Use hand and electrical power tools.

·        Read technical manuals and drawings.

·        Work in a lab environment.

Qualifications:

·        5-7 years of field experience.

·        Experience using hand and electrical power tools.

·        Ability to read technical manuals and drawings.

·        Able to work in a lab environment.

·        Wastewater Operator II certification desired.

Skills and Competencies:

·        Strong problem-solving skills.

·        Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

·        Attention to detail and organizational skills.

·        Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·        Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.

Working Conditions:

·        This position may require working in various environments, including labs and mechanical rooms.

·        Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects.

·        May involve standing, walking, and working in confined spaces.
