Boston Lab Services is seeking a temporary Space Planner to fill in for one of our employees on leave. This role is expected to last for 6 months with the potential to become a long term position.

The Space Planner & Design Support is responsible for supporting the client in the maintenance and construction of their
infrastructure. You will be working with the client and key stakeholders in the execution of these
responsibilities. You represent Boston Lab Services, part of your responsibility includes developing a
professional relationship with the client and employees, as well as vendors that are utilized while working
with the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet with clients to program, plan and implement long and short-term utilization programs and
  • strategies.
  • Provide technical planning expertise for small- and large-scale laboratory projects throughout the client’s Massachusetts campuses, including Cambridge and Lexington.
  • Evaluate laboratory space changes requests, review equipment specifications, develop scope of work, collaborate to complete CAD test fits and coordinate equipment relocations and installations as required.
  • Support initiatives with a focus on space utilization, laboratory equipment, lab casework, signage, architectural fixtures, and finishes.
  • Maintain working relationships with all levels of the organization, including senior management, key stakeholder groups, and services departments
  • Interface with internal; cross functional team members to offer support, advice, and direction for various business objectives.
  • Support client's space planning and design team initiatives.

Desired Education and Skills:

  • AS/BS in relevant fields and 5 years of job experience in the biotech industry.
  • Ability to work in a face paced and dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility and acceptance of change.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Observant with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform work in the laboratory in a clean and safe manner.
  • Ability to collaborate with scientists and management, which can be described as a “team player”
