What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phone Intake Coordinator position at Boston Orthopaedic and Spine?
We are a busy orthopedic practice looking for a full-time Phone Intake Coordinator for our Phone Intake Team. This position is responsible for inbound phone coverage and coordination in order to maintain efficient phone call processing. Responsibilities include phone queue coverage, scheduling appointments and assisting other staff with patient scheduling and clerical responsibilities. This position is eligible for our Remote Work Policy for MA residents only.
Essential functions include:
- Serves as primary point of contact for all inbound phone calls.
- Promptly answers incoming phone calls and completes calls appropriately.
- Responsible for all inbound phone call requests including scheduling appointments, processing messages, coordinating care, and appropriate transferring of calls.
- Maintains professional and welcoming environment for all phone calls.
- Ability to cover all phone queues as assigned by the Phone Intake Manager.
- Adheres to proper messaging practices for appropriate patient triage.
- Responsible for maintaining timely shift coverage and accountability for inbound phone coverage.
- Assures quality patient care by promoting effective communication and teamwork throughout the organization.
- Responsible for achieving the phone metric goals set forth by the Phone Intake Manager and COO.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned according to organizational need.
The ideal candidate would be someone who can thrive in a team setting and make those around them better. We are looking for someone who is upbeat and comfortable with a fast paced, high volume orthopedic clinic. There may be circumstances where coverage is needed in our other locations (Brighton, Cambridge and Waltham) so we value flexibility and a positive attitude. Orthopedic experience is preferred.
Generous paid time off (PTO) and insurance benefits packages are available for full time employees. Compensation is commensurate with healthcare experience. This shift will be Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
