We are seeking a high-functioning people and process leader to join the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of pediatric orthopedic solutions. The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneur at heart with proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and leading excellence in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
This is a critical role in supporting the transition from a successful family business into a high growth global leader in our market. This position participates as a key member of the plant management team, providing Manufacturing and Process leadership while supporting the development and implementation of business strategy. Demonstration of successful leadership in this role has the potential result in opportunities to grow and develop into an expanded leadership position within the company.
Leadership responsibilities include the following:
- Coaching, Mentoring, and Driving Change – coach and mentor direct reports and plant employees daily. Be a positive change driver through instruction, guidance, and mentoring. Lead by example and “Own” the manufacturing duties through their team.
- Planning, Scheduling, and Labor – support supply chain and production planning, scheduling, and labor.
- Materials Management and Inventory – Work with inventory levels with focus on delivery and optimization.
- Manufacturing – Drive manufacturing efficiency in order to achieve maximum throughput- works closely with management, product quality, product management, and works with team to implement new manufacturing improvement initiatives.
- Manufacturing Compliance - Manage supply chain and manufacturing operations in compliance with ISO 13485 principles and procedures including training and developing the team - works closely with Operations and Quality leadership.
- Continuous Improvement - Manage and develop best-in-class supply chain and manufacturing processes including SOPs utilizing Lean principles including metrics and dashboards.
- Business Systems – Streamline, implement, and manage electronic business (ERP) systems for supply chain, scheduling, and manufacturing processes as required to develop the lowest cost and highest quality products.
- Product Warranty and Service – Co-ownership and accountability of all product warranty, returns, and customer service requests and complaints – works closely with customer service and RA/QA.
- Project Management – Support project management and build culture of continuous improvement and high-performance teams with transparent communications.
- Change Management - Be an agent of change, creating a culture which embraces an entrepreneurial spirit and changes required to sustain the highest product quality, lowest cost structure, and creating competitive advantages in our market.
- This role requires proven level of leadership, functional competency, demonstrated skills, and experiences in the responsibilities defined above – the company considers future new responsibilities to be development areas for this position with the basic requirement being a high level of organization, a very curious mind, and great leadership/communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
- Preferably Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education and experience.
- Preferred STEM major, Business logistics, or supply chain focus.
- 5 years prior functional management operations, manufacturing, & supply chain logistics experience required
- ERP inventory management experience preferred
- ISO 13485 or 9001 experience preferred
