Credit and Risk Manager

Position Overview

BPA is seeking a Senior Credit and Risk Manager to lead our credit and risk management services, overseeing the credit analysis and risk management for our clients’ credit facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing client relationships, leading teams, and handling processes related to revolving credit facilities and analyses, borrowing bases for private funds and lenders, as well as a deep understanding of financial modeling and risk assessment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee risk monitoring and credit administration processes for client loans
• Lead the execution of comprehensive credit analysis for clients
• Supervise the monitoring and management of the borrowing base credit facilities ensuring collateral adequacy and compliance with agreements
• Identify, assess, and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with credit exposures
• Foster strong relationships with clients and borrowers, enhancing communications and relationships
• Participate in due diligence assignments for new borrowers
• Oversee and conduct the preparation and review of portfolio performance and risk metrics reports for BPA and client senior management
• Manage the application of borrowing base models and monitor transaction covenants
• Collaborate with clients and other third-parties to support distressed asset recovery efforts
• Manage the credit and risk management process and involved professionals
• Foster a collaborative team environment and promote continuous learning and development
• Allocate resources and manage budgets
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices to guide the team's work and ensure top-tier service delivery

Requirements of the Role

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field Graduate degree preferred
• Experience:
• 8 years of experience in credit analysis, risk management, or related roles.
• Significant experience in managing staff and processes.
• Specific experience in revolving credit analysis and borrowing base management for private credit lenders
• Skills:
• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Data Tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF/THEN, Boolean statements, and experience using Power Query
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. High attention to detail
• Understanding of capital markets and regulatory compliance. Experience with loan documentation
• Highest level of personal integrity, ethical standards, and judgment. Strong personal initiative and desire to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment
• Other Valued Qualifications: Familiarity with structured transactions and leasing products is a plus
