The Associate Director manages the day-to-day operations of BU Law's Graduate Tax (GTP) and Banking and Financial Law (BFL) Programs in their residential and online formats. This includes, but is not limited to, overseeing registration, course scheduling and exam administration; planning professional development and extra-curricular events; providing academic and non-academic student counseling support; and ensuring that program constituents receive timely and accurate academic and non-academic information about their program.
Essential Functions
The Associate Director is supported by and directly supervises the Assistant Director and Senior Program Coordinator. The Associate Director reports to the Director of the Graduate Programs in Taxation and Banking & Financial Law, and provides support to the Director and the Assistant Dean for Graduate and International Programs. The Associate Director interfaces with relevant State bars and outside organizations, including the American Bar Association Business and Tax Sections and Banking Law Committee, and the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), as well as individual speakers and panelists, in connection with continuing legal education (CLE) and other conferences hosted by the BFL and GTP Programs.

- Coordinates the resources to deliver classes and technology-related orientation to remote students, troubleshoots issues, and resolves problems, working with internal and external resources as appropriate.
- Monitors online student engagement and intervenes when necessary.
- Communicates program needs to, and monitors work of, outside vendors as needed.
- Maintains strong understanding of available campus educational technology resources.

- Bachelor's Degree and three to five years of work experience required.
- Master's Degree in Higher Education or related field preferred.
- Prior experiences as a student or administrator in online education preferred.
- The position requires strong project management, communications and interpersonal skills as well as an aptitude for new technologies and an ability to work with classroom technology specialists.
- Must be able to work effectively with faculty, including faculty with limited experience in online education.
- Given the high-level of student contact, a strong customer-service orientation is essential.
