This Environmental Engineer β Regulatory Compliance will be mentored by our LSRPs in learning and performing the following:
Responsibilities
- Prepare a wide variety of environmental reporting and permit applications including Flood Hazard Area (FHA), Freshwater Wetlands (FWW), US Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), Costal Area Facilities Review Act (CAFRA), etc. for construction projects
- Perform field subsurface hydraulic analysis, including slug and packer testing, in support of permit applications
- Work with Global Information Systems (GIS) group to prepare quality mapping for the permit applications
- Prepare Environmental Assessments and/or Environmental Impact Statements in accordance with Federal (NEPA) and State (Green Acres/Executive Order-215) regulations
- Prepare Soil Erosion And Sediment Control Certifications for application to local Soil Conservation Districts
- Prepare bid plans and specifications
- Collaborate with civil and hydraulics engineers
- Remain current with NJDEP environmental laws and regulations
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
- 0-3 years of experience in environmental regulatory compliance
- Engineer in Training (EIT) license
- Above average technical report writing and analysis skills
- Applicable Computer Software Knowledge (e.g., AutoCAD, HydroCAD, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of NJDEP Land Use Regulations including Freshwater Wetlands and Flood Hazard Area
