Junior Design Engineer (Highway)
Due to continuous growth in 2025, Boswell is seeking an additional Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our South Hackensack, NJ Team. In this entry-level position, training and mentoring will be provided on a consistent basis to enhance the right Candidate’s growth, knowledge base and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Ideally, this Engineer will pass the Engineer-in-Training (EIT)/ Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam within the first 4 years of employment.
- In this role you will be responsible for design of roads, transportation project for municipal, county, and state roads.
- Design Tools & Software: If you are strong in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil, we’ll train you on more!
- Designs may include: Traffic signal design, and recreation projects varying from baseball, football, and soccer fields, both natural and artificial turf, to parks and playgrounds.
- Will be required to spend several weeks each year on construction sites performing construction inspection of various types of transportation projects, typically at the municipal or county level
- Adherence to internal standards, policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil Engineering with some experience or interest in all of the above responsibilities
- Prior AutoCAD Design experience (AutoCAD Civil 3D is highly desirable)
- Prior MicroStation Design experience (OpenRoads is highly desirable)
