POSITION SUMMARY
As a Relationship Manager (RM), you are responsible to prospect, develop, and manage customer relationships. As part of this process, evaluate the credit-worthiness of customers to present for approval for lines of credit, letters of credit, commercial loans, credit cards, or any other bank credit products. This position also has a heavy emphasis on gathering non-interest-bearing commercial deposits. This role is highly visible in the Bank and requires a high level of professionalism and self-awareness. In this role, you are required to be extremely flexible to meet the overall demands of the department and ultimately the Bank.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of a four-year, post-secondary education preferred
- Five years of qualifying related experience and/or training required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Function as part of the Relationship Manager Team and may back up Portfolio Managers (PM) and Relationship Manager Assistants (RMAs)
- Responsible for the continuous total asset growth of their loan portfolio (you have ownership of each loan transaction to ensure it progress & decision)
- Identify and achieve all production goals
- Identify and achieve targets for customer calls
- Conform portfolio to asset quality standards adhering to policy guidelines
- Comply with all regulatory issues
- Recognize and refer credit request outside the scope of authority to the appropriate individual
- Work with the respective President, Chief Banking Officer, and Commercial Credit Officer in determining loan structure, pricing, and development of credit relationships
- Prepare and execute a structured calling program in the respective area focusing on all bank products
- Maintain a strong knowledge of all bank products to successfully sell cash management solutions to clients
- Provide corporate services to professional and commercial arena in respective market
- Assure all loan documentation is accurate and complete prior to loan closing
- Assure that the total percent of classified loans will not exceed targeted goals
- Assure past due percentage of total outstanding loans does not exceed targeted goals
- Assure charge-off percentage of total outstanding loans does not exceed targeted goals
- Lead and participate in customer calls
- Identify and promote deposit relationships to augment their loan relationship
- Attract deposit relationships, when there are no other relationships with the Bank
- Participate in civic/community activities
- Serve as back up to the Portfolio Manager as needed
- The RM, PM, & RMA work together as a team in scheduling time out of the office to ensure no negative customer impact
- The RM vacation/personal time approval will be housed with their respective President
- Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
- Actively support the ongoing development of a culturally diverse workforce
- Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with customers, management, and employees, both individually and in front of a group. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time is common as is traveling to meet with customers in various locations in the community. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common, and mobile office equipment, such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones. Occasional out-of-town or overnight travel may be required.
