JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Education/Onboarding Specialist serves as an administrative support position for Clinical Education. Stationed at the entrance of the building, this person directs customers to scheduled locations. This position also coordinates the onboarding of new hires, will be responsible for assisting with development and maintaining the new employee orientation program in conjunction with HR, recruiters and nursing educators. This position also assist the chairperson of the DAISY award, coordinates and submits courses to the Learning Management System (HealthStream), as well as assists with trouble shooting. This position assists in maintaining all AHA (American Heart Association) courses and submits required documents to the AHA.
The Clinical Education/Onboarding Specialist reports to the Director of Clinical Education and to the CNO.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High school graduate. One to two years of college preferred.
Licensure/Certification
CPR (BLS or Heartsaver)
Work Experience
A minimum of one-year medical experience preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and office equipment is required. Experience with Meditech programs, AHA, HealthStream is strongly preferred.
Experience as an Onboarding Specialist or in a similar HR role strongly preferred.
The ability to work with sensitive and confidential information. An excellent verbal and written communication skill, strong teamwork skills and good organizational and time management skills is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Responsibilities include welcoming and helping new hires, scheduling start dates and all required education for new hires, and gathering the necessary paperwork. Assist with development of and maintaining new employee orientation program. Emailing new hires with details about the company, including parking information, work schedules, and dress codes. Introducing new hires to their team members. Providing new hires with manuals, guidelines, and passwords, as needed. Detailing all new hires' initial tasks and answering any queries.
Serves as department receptionist, directing customers to the appropriate area. Maintains department equipment and sets up facility for classes. Keeps schedules and placards current/dispersed throughout the hospital, orders catering as requested, and maintain all supplies and equipment as needed.
Specialist is in charge of maintaining yearly clinical education calendar; assisting in building process, and entering courses into HealthStream. Emailing employees prior to classes, keeping track of attendance records, no call, no shows and emails directors about attendance. Files sign-in sheets from classes throughout the year for references.
Maintains all AHA education records, class rosters, instructor certifications/evaluations, course manuals and invoices in a neat and easily accessible manner. Maintains records in HealthStream and assists with certification requirements.
The Clinical Education Specialist assists the chairperson of the DAISY Award at BRHC.
Works collaboratively with nursing schools, Smith Cotton High School, Nursing Recruiter, and educators to assist with scheduling of nursing clinical and CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) students rotations.
Assists community members in registering for classes, takes payments, and make deposits. Ensures that community members have the necessary material for their classes.
Works collaboratively with the Administration Support team to cover other duties when necessary.
Other duties as assigned by Director of Clinical Education and CNO.
Demonstrates cooperation in fulfillment of other duties as requested within the scope of the job description.
