Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is in a manufacturer setting. You must reside in Maryland as this position is in office. This position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors while ensuring efficient logistics operations.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage logistics operations, including transportation, import/export of shipments.
- Develop and implement demand planning strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, negotiating terms as necessary to enhance supplier management.
- Manage Truck leases and depots. If a lease is expiring, negotiate the new lease.
- Analyze supply chain processes and identify opportunities for improvement in production planning and logistics efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and deliveries to support effective stock management.
- Manage the claims process if we have damaged shipments.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Prior knowledge of import/export and customs laws.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers.
- Proficient in using logistics software and tools for tracking shipments and managing inventory.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for effective problem-solving.
- Someone who is extremely organized will thrive in this role.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
