What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at DigiFlight?
The Logistics Specialist will direct, coordinate, and be responsible for the inventory of raw material, finished goods, manufactured, and purchased parts, engineering materials, consumables, packaging supplies, shipping materials, documents, and other materials in support of a department of defense contract aimed at rapid prototyping and testing of new systems. The candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, multitasking ability and provide effective communication supported by a philosophy of continuous improvement and standardized work processes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages the flow of resources between the point of origin, purchase of the item, to configuration management, through disposal
- Responsible for monitoring and supporting the supply chain process
- Use computing systems to enter data of goods receipts into applicable systems
- Orchestrate all logistics functions and interact with planners and demand/supply and distribution managers, etc.
- Supports supply chain risk management efforts such as obsolescence, counterfeit parts, and other categories of risk that affect the supply chain
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated ability to create, execute and monitor through completion shipping documents such as Commercial Bills of lading (CBL) and Government Bills of Lading (GBL).
- Must have ability to reconcile inventory data for tracking, monitoring, and shipping.
- Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jack.
- Must have knowledge and experience in commercial and DOD packaging requirements.
Candidate must be a US Citizenship
Candidate must have a MA/MS degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience. This may be substituted with a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 12 years of total experience.
