What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Global Customer Marketing position at Bottomline?
We are looking for a Head of Global Customer Marketing to join our team at Bottomline. The Head of Global Customer Marketing will build out our Customer Marketing Strategy, with a focus on customer engagement, retention, and revenue growth through strategic marketing initiatives. In this role, you will develop and execute data-driven B2B customer marketing campaigns that enhance customer loyalty, increase cross-sell and upsell opportunities, and improve customer lifetime value. This role will report to the Global Head of Product Marketing.
This is a remote role and must be located in ET.
How You’ll Contribute
Customer Marketing Strategy
- Develop and implement customer marketing initiatives that drive pipeline generation and customer expansion across our global markets.
- Create targeted campaigns to increase product adoption, customer retention, and advocacy.
- Leverage customer insights to design data-driven engagement programs.
Customer Segmentation & Insights
- Analyze customer data to identify key segments and tailor marketing efforts accordingly.
- Work closely with customer success, product, and sales teams to gather insights into customer behavior and needs.
- Monitor customer feedback and engagement metrics to refine marketing strategies.
Customer Engagement & Retention
- Execute initiatives that enhance customer engagement through personalized content, campaigns, and experiences.
- Develop marketing programs that provide ongoing value and strengthen customer relationships.
Campaign Management & Execution
- Plan and manage integrated marketing campaigns focused on retention, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
- Develop customer-centric content, including case studies, testimonials, and product guides.
- Track campaign performance and optimize based on data insights.
Measurement & Reporting
- Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to customer marketing success.
- Analyze program effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Innovation & Best Practices
- Stay current on customer marketing trends, tools, and technologies.
- Experiment with new strategies to enhance customer engagement and loyalty.

- 7 years of experience in customer marketing, customer retention, or B2B marketing.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in customer data analytics, segmentation, and CRM tools.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic marketing initiatives that drive measurable results.
- Experience managing customer lifecycle marketing, loyalty, and advocacy programs.
- Understand rules and regulations for marketing to a global audience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo).
- Experience in marketing for global businesses and/or multiproduct offerings required.
- Experience with SaaS, technology, or payments-based businesses.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
