Boulder County Community Planning and Permitting Department is seeking to hire a Special Events Administrative Technician to join our team and assist our Special Events Coordinator in planning and executing a wide range of events. The ideal candidate should be organized, detail oriented, and capable of managing administrative tasks efficiently. This is an hourly position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to the success of permitting events through our department.
This hourly, non-benefited position will work 15-20 hours per week, Monday - Friday with the potential for some weekend hours during event season. This position will work out of 2045 13th Street, Boulder, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $24.04 Hourly

Examples of Duties
- Provides administrative support in the planning and permitting of special events in unincorporated Boulder County
- Assist in maintaining event calendar
- Manage event-related documentation
- Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure seamless event logistics
- Handle inquiries and communication from event organizers and members of the public
- Support the Special Events Coordinator in on-site pre-event verification of requirements
- Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, email correspondence, phone calls, and event mailings
- Process performance deposit refunds after events
- May be reassigned to other projects within the permit and licensing team
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
