Boulder County Public Works Department is seeking to hire a Road Maintenance Supervisor. The Road Maintenance Supervisor is a management level classification. Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Road Maintenance. The Road Maintenance Supervisor plans, directs and manages road maintenance activities and operations.
This is a full-time, benefited position. The work hours for this position are Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:30pm during the winter October-April and Monday - Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm during the Summer April-October. This position will work at 5201 St. Vrain Rd., Bldg., 5 in Longmont, CO 80503. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $101,868.00 - $124,296.00 Annually

Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and eight years of experience in road maintenance, including four years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
Driver's License& Reliable Vehicle
Additional related education may count towards required experience.
Must possess a CDL to operate heavy road equipment.

Examples of Duties
- Surveys general road conditions, plans work programs and inspects finished projects.
- Sets priorities for projects, coordinates efforts with other County departments and directs Operations/Admin supervisor and Foreperson in allocating equipment and personnel.
- Responds to and handles complaints from County officials and the public.
- Prepares or supervises preparation of road maintenance budget.
- Conducts employee evaluations, counsels employees concerning performance and initiates personnel actions on hiring, termination, promotion and discipline.
- Writes truck and equipment specifications.
- Prepares or reviews work and equipment reports.
- Manages Boulder County's Multimodal Maintenance Program.
- Manages responsibilities for Road Maintenance for the Office of Disaster Management during emergencies.
- May develop and coordinate Road Maintenance Division equipment training program.
- Performs related work as required.
- May be reassigned in case of emergencies.
