Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department is seeking to hire eight (8) Seasonal Trails Technicians. The Boulder County Parks & Open Space Trails Crew is seeking motivated seasonal crew members to assist with a variety of projects on our sustainable trails systems. We work on 120 miles of recreational and regional trail systems that immerse you into the beautiful mountains and plains. These are seasonal, hourly, non-benefited positions with Boulder County that will run approximately from mid-May to mid-October. The Seasonal Trails Technicians work Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 5:30 pm for 40 hours a week. The positions report to 5201 St. Vrain Road, Longmont, CO. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is non-exempt.
Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range: $24.04 - $26.54 Hourly

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a high school diploma, or equivalent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One year of trails/parks maintenance and construction experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs. and carries up to 100 feet (may be performed by two person lift)
- Occasionally lifts up to 80 lbs. from floor to waist
- Frequently lifts up to 32 lbs. from shoulder to overhead
- Occasionally pushes and pulls items weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Frequently lifts and lowers wheelbarrow with 160 lbs. load
- Occasionally performs bi-lateral lift of 60 lbs. and carries up to 50 ft.
- Frequently lifts up to 35 lbs. from waist level and lowers to floor
- Frequently bends at waist, squats, kneels, shovels, and rakes
- Occasionally climbs ladder; must be able to stand and balance on ladder
- Occasionally walks over uneven terrain
